Accessibility and allergies

We work hard to make sure our church is accessible and available to as many as we can. If you have further questions about our accessibly, please do not hesitate to ask the church office.

    • At Columbia Heights UMC we are wheelchair accessible. Everything is located at entrance level including the family life center where the 9:00 service is held, and the sanctuary is located. The sound booths and stages however are not wheelchair accessible.

    • Restrooms are all wheelchair accessible. All classrooms, family life center, library, sanctuary and chapel are also wheelchair accessible. If you need help with doors, please ask! The sound booths are not wheelchair accessible and additional assistance may be needed for those areas.

    • A projection screen is used at both services to promote easy reading. We also have hearing assistance devices available for the 10:30 service. Head to the sound booth for additional assistance with hearing devices that we have available.

    • Those with dairy, gluten, or other allergies are welcome to attend. Please ask before consuming any food about any allergies.

    • People with cognitive challenges, mental illness, and chronic illness are welcome and included in our church.

Disruptions are accepted and incorporated into worship. Service animals or guide dogs are welcome within the church building. Persons with disabilities are welcome to serve and help plan ways to improve our accessibility.

    • We are committed to making our church a home for all with regards to our attitudes and our physical facilities. Please let us know if there is additional assistance needed to meet any needs you may have.
